This combination gel is indicated for the rapid, localized relief of mild-to-moderate pain, stiffness, and inflammation associated with musculoskeletal and joint disorders:

  • Musculoskeletal Pain & Stiffness: Relief from acute neck stiffness, lower backache, shoulder pain, and fibromyalgia.
  • Sprains & Strains: Fast recovery from minor sports injuries, muscle pulls, tendonitis, bursitis, and ligament strains.
  • Arthritic Joint Pain: Symptomatic management of pain, swelling, and localized joint inflammation associated with osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.
  • Sciatica & Lumbago: Soothing relief for deep nerve-associated back radiation and localized lower back strains.

Dosage & Administration

Website Note: Frequency of application must be individualized by a registered medical practitioner based on the size of the affected area and severity of the pain.

  • Standard Dose: Gently apply a thin layer of gel (typically a pea-sized to walnut-sized amount, depending on the area) to the affected site 3 to 4 times daily.
  • Administration Method: Clean and dry the area before application. Rub the gel in gently and thoroughly until absorbed. Wash hands immediately after application, unless the hands themselves are the area being treated.
  • Post-Application Note: Do not wash the treated area or take a shower for at least one hour after application to maximize absorption.

Contraindications & Precautions

  • Absolute Contraindications: Do not use in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to diclofenac, aspirin, salicylates, or other NSAIDs (e.g., individuals who have experienced asthma attacks, hives, or acute rhinitis triggered by aspirin). Do not apply to open wounds, cuts, infections, burns, or eczematous/diseased skin.
  • Anatomical Restrictions: For external use only. Avoid any contact with the eyes, nose, mouth, genital, or anal mucous membranes. If accidental contact occurs, rinse immediately with cold water.
  • Occlusive Dressing & Heat Warning: Do not apply an airtight bandage or wrapping over the treated area. Avoid concurrent use of external heating pads or hot water bottles on the site, as this can excessively increase drug absorption and risk severe skin blistering or systemic toxicity.
  • Viral Infection/Pediatric Precaution: Due to the presence of Methyl Salicylate, caution is advised when using this formulation on children or teenagers recovering from viral illnesses (like flu or chickenpox) due to the theoretical risk of Reye’s syndrome.

Potential Side Effects

  • Common / Mild: Localized skin reactions at the application site, including a burning or stinging sensation, redness (erythema), itching (pruritus), mild skin dryness, or contact dermatitis.
  • Less Common / Severe: Severe localized skin blistering, systemic allergic reactions (wheezing, shortness of breath, facial swelling), and photosensitivity (increased sensitivity of the treated skin area to sunlight). Systemic NSAID effects (like gastric irritation) are highly unlikely but can occur with chronic over-application across vast body surface areas.
